thanks guys. george, only one of my hands shakes. my right. good thing i'm left handed. its not shakes like tremors. i just can't hold it still or hold anything in that hand still..
This is looking great Kevin. You're moving along quickly. I hope your wife feels better real soon. A friend of mine got Shingles in spite of being vaccinated with the latest vaccine, but it was probably less severe than it would have been.
Looking good there I like the gray, older look on the barn and stairs. Understand the few hours a day modeling, I have essential tremors and my routine is a few hours in the morning if lucky. The rest of the day I can brush and stain my wood. Sorry about your wife.
I finished up the fences today, and now it’s time for the cookhouse. question of the day; what’s a good substitute for Floquil signal red and daylight orange?
Kevin, I believe there’s a conversion chart from Floquil to Model Master. Otherwise, in the past I’ve been able to go to a paint store and have them color match. The downside is ending up with a huge amount of paint.
Signal red is essentially a true red and daylight orange would be a bright-ish orange (as compared to a burnt orange). Unless you're trying to match a road color or other have another specific need keep it as simple as possible.
I'll be watching over your shoulders Kevin !! There are a lot of reference builds here on the forum you can 'consult' if needed.. And euh... these kits aren't meant to be 'quick' builds... Just enjoy the ride man.. ( put on some Alabaster music )
robert, they just posted this video is the past week.
Thanks Kevin, I am a fan you know that ! The 'cavemen' are back... And no bass player, just like the Doors. The 'Keyman' does it all..
when i asked my son why they didn't include the new stuff he said, we wanted to get the old stuff out first. so hopefully the next vid will be all new stuff.
Easily the best part of kit building. Adding all those fantastic detail. Looking forward to seeing what you do. Certainly can't say you are all thumbs these days.
i'm still putzin' at it. i've been building saw horses and palettes, putting detail scenes together, and doing some scenery. i still have the tractor shed on the bench and i'm detailing it and i'm probably gonna build the roof while it's still on the bench. my career with epoxy has been spotty at best. i finished the gas pump, but i've pretty much given up hope for the tractor. i've given it four tries, and had zero luck. i keep soaking it it alcohol and starting over on it. i have a fordson in the shed right now, and i just might have to go that way. to make matters worse, my local ace didn't have any loctite and i don't like the gorilla glue epoxy at all, so i bought j&d weld. it stinks like hell and lingers for days. that's a nogo for me. one thing i do like about that brand is the screw on cap. that's pretty cool and i'm sure its proprietary. anyway......

Sorry to hear about the wife shingles are just terrible when you get them. Hopefully her recover will be a quick one.
