Hi all,
I joined this forum today because I just bought my first SWSM structure. The O scale Brass and Iron Foundry. I am a O scale modeler since 1993 (I think) and run 3 rail Lionel and MTH trains. I only have a small temporary layout for now, but I am hoping by next year I will be able to build a new 2 story garage where the second floor will be a train room. I like to build structures in the mean time and will place them on the layout when I start building a permanent one.
I guess I consider myself an average kit builder. I have built some structures and detailed/weathered them. But, this Brass and Iron Foundry will be an advanced kit for me. I feel like I can handle this level of kit building, but I know I will be stuck on some things and I will need to ask all the experienced folks here. In fact, I just started doing the first step of graining the strip wood for the Pattern Shop, and I already have a question about it.
I will post my question in a different category. So, I hope to start chatting with everyone here soon and learn some techniques on weathering/detailing. Would like to even contribute some ideas, but I think that may be far fetched. Everyone here seems to be far more experienced kit bashers than me.
Cheers,
Henry
