yes John the super fine will work great. If you are just wanting to remove fuzzies, use light/medium pressure and snag them in the wire wool, generally before colouring. Draw the stripwood through the wool to avoid breakage.
Super fine steel wool is also great for lightly buffing edges of metal castings. The SW instructions note this and I find it is my favourite way of popping out edges and stuff. But steel wool "sheds" too which is about as annoying as the fuzzies...
