In and Out Burger. Oro Valley, AZ is adjacent to Pusch Ridge and the Big Horn Mountains in the greater Catalina Mountains. The elevation of Pusch Ridge and Big Horn Mountain is about 5366'. Big Horn Mountain is named after the herds of big horn sheep that call it home. The Catalina Mountains summit is out of the photo and rises to an elevation in excess of 9,000 feet. These mountains are home not only to big horn sheep, but also mountain lions, black bears, and bob cats to name a few predators at the top of the food chain. They are also part of the path for migrating birds. Mount Lemon at the highest point of the Catalina Mountains is home to a ski lodge and covered in snow from around Thanksgiving to Easter. We have the advantage of seeing snow during the winter when we don’t have to shovel it to get out of our driveway.

My Publix of choice is about 20 miles from Mount Dora, elevation 184 feet above sea level. Mount Dora has no Big Horn Sheep but has an abundance of tourists wearing tee shirts, shorts and sandals even when the locals are wearing lite to medium weight jackets and long pants.
It’s just about lunch time as I’m writing this. I guess I’ll sign off snd go get a Publix sub…maybe in the shadow of Mount Dora
