3dP Cut down barrel

If you saw Brett's email update this afternoon you probably saw that he's offering a a 3d printed barrel cut down on a stand...wow, did that bring back memories....

In Vietnam we generally had Sunday afternoons off from our construction duties and many Company cook-outs were held. The preferred 'grill' of choice was a cut down 55 gal drum on angle iron legs. The attached pic doesn't show the drum very well but that's just like Brett's version.

btw...the steaks were acquired by trading plywood to the Marines for the steaks. Grilling in the mud was typical. For the benefit of any Marines looking in the photo was taken at An Hoa (ann whaa) Combat Base 1968. My friend Geno is the grill-meister and I'm still in contact with him.

Thanks for the memory, Brett

OK, so what's burning in the DF?
  • Human waste…the building to the left is a ‘4 holer’…the cut down drums slide in from the back ot the ‘facilty’ under the 4 seats…every couple of days the drums are pulled out snd burned with diesel…don’t know which oder was worse, the filled drums before burning or during burning
