Several months ago I started this kit but got sidetracked with other distractions. I'm now glad I waited because Ken's creative build gave me some new ideas to incorporate into my build. I had all the wood stained and painted before being sidetracked so it wasn't too far along. I added the cupola to break up the large roof and to provide a way for ventilation to the structure.
This is not a follow along build, just a show and tell of the completed diorama. I will make comments as I go along. First I'll go around the exterior of the structure then show interior views.
I modified the side so not to have the covered service area. After completing the structure I thought the side looked too plain so added the awning.
Just spectatular, Tom...especially the rust on the various wheel sets and driver wheels...also just enough color usage on the work benches to add something to the scene without overpowering....Well Done!!!...Only suggestion I would have is to have some color to the main body(s) of the metal working machinery (Christmas Green toned down with chalk???) Tom, a very good arrangement of the details and tools both in side and out. Also a great amount of weeds and tall grass around the building. I especially like the flowers by the donkey engine base that has the metal tank. Thanks for sharing this great build with us. Randy
Fantastic build Tom! So much nice detail work to peruse just can't do it in one sitting! Love all the different scenes. Simply outstanding my friend, well done and should be proud of this one!
Fantastic build Tom, everything looks just right and perfectly done in every picture.
Love the hand towel on the rail over the sink, great touch.
I'm sure I've missed other nuances after this first look so I'll enjoy pouring back over, and studying your great work and pictures several times and finding them.
This is HO right? I'm looking at it all and notice, among other things, the wiring going up the wall and the junction boxes near the compressor. What a great detail. You've got to be frigging kidding me. HO? Awesome, great job.
Spirit of the original plus your roof and shed additions — everything fits perfectly! There’s a ton of detail parts here—just the right amount to keep viewer’ interest from all angles, inside and out! Congrats! Have to bookmark this one.
Thanks guys for all the nice comments. As I have stated before I like adding the details and creating the little scenes. This was another fun build as are ALL SW kits. It's also nice to add some personal touches to make it a little different than right out of the box. It is also nice to have people go before me with their creativity and being able to adopt some of those ideas.

And you did it all so well Tom, a beautiful model and diorama that brings everything together flawlessly, so really well done in every aspect.
