I know what you are saying Kevin. Most of their figures will work just fine in our dioramas. I tend to put them in denim pants which screams American, but some of the figures would look out of place. I don't have a problem with the berets as these were common in period photos of workers here in the US. I would be interested in finding some different heads for some of the figures. Most of these come with separate heads and/or arms. It would be cool to customize them with different heads and hats.
The guy leaning over the tractor is a bicycle repair figure. Wearing beret and holding a tire pump. You never know it by his stance here. The guy kneeling down by the Toppins also wears a beret.
tell me that you see this look in the states.... https://www.mk35.com/en/16-civilians?id_category=16&n=136 i don't have anything against europeans, my grandparents were europeans. but even my grandparents dressed in "american" clothes. ya know what? never mind.
An amazing model in every way. Thanks for taking the time to post all of the pictures and thanks for all the tips you gave. I know I will be trying to use them on future models.
Robert. I Thought the same thing then I realized that he was wearing Polyester clothing and while cleaning his shoe he may have been quite mad and overheated thus the wet clothing and the shine. .........Carl.........
Robert, I'll hit that guy with some dullcote. Acrylics can get that sheen sometimes and I didn't do much weathering on his attire.
Kevin, I found the passage below from a 1903 copy of "Modern Materia Medica and Therapeutics".
Pepo is the seed of the common pumpkin, Cururbita Pepo. It contains a fixed oil and a resin, the latter probably being the active principle. The dose is from 1-3 oz. Pumpkin seed is a perfectly safe, but somewhat uncertain, remedy for tapeworm. It is usually prescribed in the form of an emulsion, made by beating the decorticated seeds into a paste, adding sugar, and diluting with water or milk. It should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach, and followed in 2-3 hours by castor oil.
Thanks all. Night shots to follow. Right now the glue is drying for attaching the base of the dio to the base of the case. Mounting the switch will be interesting.
Here's a shot of the light board and micro switch all wired up. After glue is dried I'll have to work upside down to attach these components to the bottom of the dio. I cut an appropriate sized hole in the case base to work in.

If I can just make this small remark: I think the clothing of the shoe guy is to shiny. Just my opinion.

One quick light shot for starters.
