tbanks ken. to bring this back on the right track, i made a cradle of sorts to function as a holder for the main roof so i can shingle it on the workbench. i added 1 1/2" to the height because the gable roof will be sitting on a 2 x 4" block adjacent to the cradle.
here's my question for the forum: my initial plan was to laminant two sheets of chipboard together for the roof panels, but that just isn't strong enough so i bought a 12" x 24" sheet of 1/32" plywood (for ease of cutting). do you think that will be sufficient by itself, or would laminating some chipboard to it be a better idea?

I would think that's sufficient support...IMHO...

tomorrow night (meeting tonight) i will scribe the shingle lines on the panels and start shingling.
the finished diorama would never fit.
